Siemens AG Österreich is part of Siemens, headquartered in Berlin and Munich, which is one of the world's largest electrical engineering and electronics companies and holds leading market positions in all its business areas. Siemens AG Österreich has approx. 7500 employees working to develop and manufacture products, design and install complex systems and projects, and tailor a wide range of services for individual requirements. Thereof 2063 employees are working in R&D. Siemens AG Österreich provides innovative technologies and comprehensive know-how to benefit customers, especially in the Siemens cluster Central Eastern Europe. This is an economic region encompassing 19 countries with more than 230 million inhabitants, including Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Georgia, Hungary, Israel, Kosovo, Montenegro, Republic of Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey and Ukraine.
Previous experience
Siemens innovations in Healthcare combine state-of-the-art imaging, laboratory diagnostics, and IT solutions for an earlier prevention and more specific diagnosis, thus enhancing patient care. Siemens Corporate Technology is supporting the Siemens Sector Healthcare in research and development on these innovations. The Corporate Technology Central Eastern Europe department (CT CEE), as part of Siemens AG Österreich, represents all levels of an integrated innovation process. Around 1000 research and development employees in six countries are working on new products and solutions in technology, application development and integration. CT CEE is thereby making an important contribution to building on the technological leadership of Siemens sectors in all branches involved. Siemens AG Österreich CT CEE focuses on life science sensors and systems and has recently established a new organizational unit within Corporate Technology (CT) to deal with "Life Science Systems". This unit is active in the area of process automation and sensor systems for pharmaceutical industry and healthcare. R&D cooperations further strengthen their position within the whole Siemens group and enlarge the R&D activities on this topic at the site of Austria. Siemens AG Österreich holds all relevant infrastructure and competences to perform this project.
