Description of the organisation

infineon logo-enInfineon Technologies focuses on the three central challenges facing modern society: Energy Efficiency, Mobility and Security and offers semiconductors and system solutions for automotive and industrial electronics and chip card and security applications. Infineon’s products stand out for their reliability, their quality excellence and their innovative and leading-edge technology in analog and mixed signal, RF and power as well as embedded control. The division Power Management & Multimarket Division focuses on components for efficient power management or high-frequency applications. The components are mainly used in computing (server, notebooks, PC) lighting and metering products, solar inverters, gaming and mobile devices as well as in wireless base stations. Our Chip Card & Security Division is helping to improve data security in today’s information society. As users become ever more mobile, advanced security solutions are very much in demand. Consistent deployment of security products has the potential to act as a pacesetter for cutting-edge applications in transport and IT infrastructure. Infineon has the industry’s largest portfolio of chips and interfaces to meet the relevant security requirements in these areas.

Profile of staff members

Herbert PAIRITSCH:
1977 - 1985  Studies of electronics at the technical university of Graz
since 1986 employed at Infineon Technologies Austria AG (former Siemens HL)
In this period manager of several departments in production and development
since 2005 Senior Manager Technology & Innovation for Power Management & Multimarket
In this function: Coordination of national and European projects in the field of energy efficient electronics (e-mobility, LED-lighting, Smart Grids, Smart Cities).
Numerous talks at national and European conferences

Holger BOCK gained his Master degree (DI) at the Graz University of Technology in 1994. From 1991 to 1998 he worked on concepts, software and hardware development, especially VLSI-Design, integration, verification and testing of ICs for cryptographic applications at the Institute for Applied Information Processing and Communications (IAIK), also in projects with semiconductor industries. In 1998 he joined the team at Infineon’s DCGR as a core competence for security. From 2001 on he was focusing on design methodologies for secure (especially DPA-resistant) cryptographic hardware.
